There is nothing better than homemade hummus. Not only are you in control of the ingredients but you get to experiement and add what ever you want. I have added broccoli, red peppers and sundried tomatoes; the options are endless.
It´s best with a food processor but can also be made with a blender.
makes about 2 cups
ingredients:
1 can of cooked chickpeas (rinsed in water)
3-5 tbsp of olive oil
1/2 cup tahini
5-8 minced cloves of garlic
cayenne pepper to taste
juice of 1 lemon
Mix all ingredients in food processor. I start by blending the first ingredient and blend before adding each ingredient one by one. Yummylishes.
Serve with tortilla chips, sliced veggies (zucchini, carrots, jimaca, cucumbers), or pita for your friends with out gluten alergies.
